Not only that, the sheer volume of mods that will be uploaded and made available means that Bethesda is going to have some job of managing the whole community. For one thing, the script extender won't work as well with the Xbox One. To bring this to console gaming is a huge step forward, however fans are already skeptical about how well it'll work out. Modding is one of the main draws for PC gaming and there's a hugely vibrant community of designers and programmers who've created some incredible mods for Skyrim, Fallout 4 and countless other games down through the years. However, the key difference here is that this version of Skyrim will come with a modding platform, meaning that console players will finally be able to download many of the mods that have managed to extend Skyrim's life-cycle. That's not a remastering, more just a simple port to the next-gen platform. Rumours and reports have surfaced online that suggest Skyrim will be getting a 'Definitive Edition' for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's no surprise that a remastering has eagerly awaited by fans since both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launched, however it looks that's no longer going to be the case. There hasn't been a game like Skyrim - on consoles, anyway - that's managed to suck us into its world completely. For us, Skyrim is up there with being the game of the decade.
